FORTRESS WEEKEND HOUSE

TYPE: Weekend house

LOCATION: Rural area

SURGACE: 100m² (net)

FLOORS: Ground floor+2+Roof

STATUS: Preliminary design

The idea for the fortress house arose from the desire to design a holiday home, which could be located in more densely populated rural areas, on a smaller plot, with maximum openness to the outside space, without losing its privacy. In order not to build high fences around the plot, the fortification is built into the walls of the facility, representing its main facade. Inside this membrane there are rooms, which have access to the outside space, more or less open to the environment. For this reason, the main characteristic of this facility is reflected in numerous outdoor spaces in the form of terraces, balconies, loggias, inner courtyards, outer staircases. For example the bedroom can be completely closed to the views of the surroundings, but at the same time open to the outside space.

The labyrinth of roads inside the fortresses is established at this facility through additional external communications. The transition from one room to another can also be achieved through the open space, thus motivating the user to stay there more often. An additional wish was that each of the rooms would have at least two different sources of light. Depending on the position within the facility and the purpose of the room, the number of light sources also varies, which can be used to further control the type of lighting that you want to achieve in the room. Thus, for example, a multifunctional room has four light sources, increasing its flexibility of use even further.

When not in use, the facility can be completely closed with the help of wooden shading panels.
